Last Straw

We didn’t invade Iraq to maintain human rights. I mean look at the catastrophic consequences of the invasion. Who would argue that people are better off now than they were under Saddam’s dictatorship. The reason was people wanted to secure Iraqi oil resources for international consumers, but they didn’t want to steal the oil, they wanted to control of the energy and they didn’t want the profits from that to go into Saddam’s regime. It’s hard to argue against that. But we are where we are. There’s no point crying over spilt blood. Oil mixes money, science and blood.
