Radio NZ has been working on a new website to provide its programming over the internet, which is excellent for those of us overseas who want to keep in touch with NZ culture and events. The new website went live today.
Andrew Dubber has an initial critique.
Dunno if many Last Straw readers have ever heard of the Maxim Institute; it’s a dodgy foreign-funded right-wing fundamentalist Christian group trying to turn NZ into Conservative America. Their director Bruce Logan was recently done for plagiarism, along with his daughter who was fired from the paper she was writing for.
The Association of Rationalists and Humanists did some research and found a number of instances of plagiarism in Logan’s newspaper opinion pieces and Parliamentary Bill submissions.
You can catch a worthwhile Radio NZ interview with Professor Paul Morris, a specialist scholar in the field of contemporary world religions, on the meaning of Maxim.
The Windows Media Audio (WMA) streams suck so if you’d like to avoid that format you can change your preferences to MP3.
