Apparently there’s a big event on the horizon. A group of aliens calling themselves the Galactic Federation of Light are coming to earth on the 14th of October, in a prelude to saving us from the shit heads who currently run the place.
The message addresses “all people of earth” but then goes on to say “it shall be in the south of your hemisphere and it shall scan over many of your states … We give to you the name of Alabama.” So either it addresses all people of earth but then goes on to ignore them and speak to just the Americans (those in the southern part of the northern hemisphere), or the event is to be in the Southern Hemisphere and someone got their geography screwed up because Alabama ain’t in the Southern Hemisphere.
I’m picking the earlier; that Blossom, our messenger, is American and it’s a simple ethnocentric mistake. This is probably the same reason the alien guy in the background of the video is a blond white dude. Blossom and friends are presumably white Americans.
If these aliens have mastered intergalactic space travel you’d think they would have mastered a little plain English. “We give to you the name of Alabama”? They could have brushed up on their grammar a little too: “Authorities will be intruding into ‘our’ atmospherics that surround our ship.” “We do not come to destruct.”
And where’re the translations? English-only seems a little short-sighted, if not plain unethical coming from such ethical beings.
Then there’s the forewarning and demonisation of those who may be sceptical, a feather out of the cap of religion. And we all know why religions do that. Why would such aliens even feel the need to mention this? Self doubt? It’s no skin off their nose if people are sceptical, as “a craft of great size shall be visible … for all to see.”
Lastly, the message comes from someone called ‘Blossom Goodchild.’
As much as I would dearly love for there to be peaceful aliens who come to save the day, wishing it doesn’t make it so.
I don’t blame people for clutching at this sort of thing. They think, as I think, that humanity has infinitely more potential than it’s currently demonstrating. Essentially they’re searching for outward answers as to why we’ve fucked it up so badly; why we’re steering down the barrel of planetary devastation and World War III. They don’t want to believe that we could be the masters of our own destruction.
It may also have something to do with many of us coming to believe in the dichotomy of good and evil; that there are good people and that there are evil people. People don’t want to believe they’re evil so this inevitably leads one to question how the evil people got here and what we can do about them. Thus enter the alien super hero.
Searching for outward answers is a huge mistake in my opinion. Humans are neither good nor bad but have the capacity for both. Whether we’re destined for brighter things or an evolutionary dead end is unknown but it certainly seems we have the capacity to have a say in the matter. Blaming aliens, or hedging bets on aliens in shining armer, or simply gambling on an afterlife (as religions do) distracts one from doing what we need to do here and now on planet earth.
So, I’ve read this message from Blossom Goodchild and taken a look at the evidence and this is my message to those who want to believe this stuff: if this event doesn’t take place, don’t discount this but remember it as a piece of evidence that strongly contradicts those who profess to know about aliens and their intentions. And in the mean time go read this piece about confirmation bias.

Well dissected my brother, I too found the southern hemisphere thing confusing, I also imagine it is America but that is clearly not southern hemisphere.
The wording is not perfect, the video is cheesy, the white guy is pretty fit alright, and the happy hippy messenger is suspect. Got ya.
As far as the math of miracles in the article you referred us too, point taken, but random deaths or friends calling as you call them is a far cry from predicting an event like this. I am sure that countless alien predictions have occurred, but add the other “channelers” who are supposedly getting the same message and greater detail such as the ship being 2000 miles in diameter, we would not be intelligent to write such an event off as random math anomaly if it were to happen, so I am guessing your whole point is it aint happening, anyone who thinks it is possible is a bit silly.
But I am more interested in the psychology of your response, is it just a healthy dose of skepticism, or are you irritated by discussion of such possibilities? Either way its cool my brother, I will vouch for you when the fit, white, way cool aliens offer to take me and my family tripping down to utopia village singing “cumbaya”.
For what its worth however, I am no fool and I know the difference between conjecture, fact, possibilities, absolutes, intellect and intuition. I also do not believe in waiting for the Messiah or Super Aliens to save us. Why else would I be in Gaza or doing many other things I have done unless I believed the world is what we make of it.
But I have to say, with a healthy dose of intellect and intuition, I have no doubt at all that there are aliens sharing the universe, that there is incredible evidence to show that some of them are here, and compelling evidence that they play a major role in the functioning of our world. OK, I know I just lost even more of the minority support for my views, but I stand by what I say.
I certainly know that humanity is collectively insane, and as a student of anthropology I found the explanations for this reality unsatisfying. I do not know that evil aliens are the cause, but I will not discount it, especially not because the majority thinks such possibilities are blah, blah, blah.
If you do any serious alternative research you will immediately find significant support for the evil alien theory within the remaining aboriginal cultures. In fact this hippy child is apparently working with one such tribe. Understand that it is not one abhorrent tribe here and there, there is amazing stories going back thousands of years among numerous aboriginal peoples and such stories are woven into the fabric of many of these cultures. I find these facts very compelling and supportive of empirical evidence such as video, photos, high level insiders blowing the whistle, eyewitness accounts and archaeological evidence.
Keep in mind as well that the destruction of aboriginal cultures seems to go beyond simple theft of land, resources, it seems that they may well know the truth which “civilization” is now oblivious to and that threatens those who run our world and therefore they historically wipe them out. Indeed countless such cultures have been wiped out. This is more intuitive on my part, but I do believe there is much more to the story then most can imagine.
I think you would do well to consider as well that the supposed aliens of this message did not hand over a DVD to the hippy, they apparently “channeled” it through her. Thus our little hippy friend was the secretary, producer and editor of the message so maybe she just needs a new mac, some video editing lessons and a pr consultant.
No matter what, we shall see in October, I suggest that you keep an open mind and as is said in the cheesy film, let “love” be your guide. If it does not happen it will most certainly decrease the credibility of those who claimed to get the message, but it will not change the existence of enormous evidence which credibly proves that alien contact is a reality and it may very have a profound impact on all aspects of human history. So all I ask is that you consider this understanding and continue to use those critical thinking skills, look beyond youtube videos and check out some of the impossible to discount evidence. Either way it is up to everyone to decide for themselves.

I’ll play devil’s advocate and disagree with some of your points. You ARE making some of uninformed assumptions. For example, the term “alabama” doesn’t necessarily imply the state of Alabama. The state of Alabama “borrowed” their name from a Native American term. When they said, “We give you the name of Alabama,” it could imply something other that the state of Alabama.
Also, you criticize the grammar used. If she is the “medium” that she claims to be, and they mentally communicate messages to her, maybe they use the English language as SHE would use it, since they are “channeling” themselves through HER mind. Maybe they communicate to her using HER interpretation of the English language, grammatical errors and all, the same as if they were communicating with a person speaking Japanese. Maybe the message is more important than the grammar being used to convey it.
I personally have no opinion about this topic, I will just sit back and wait until October 14, 2008. Of course I HOPE it happens, and who wouldn’t, but I am willing to admit that I just don’t know. I am not going to be condescending and judgmental, nor am I going to pretend to be an “informed” skeptic. I will not act like I have people “figured out,” because I most certainly DO NOT, and neither do you!

I commend your attempt at ‘rationalising’ this concept. However, your article shows a great deal of misunderstanding around the subject of various densities or dimensions, not to mention universal laws and ‘extra-terrestrials’.
One thing in your article that discredits your argument is the fact that you seem to believe that the message is “looking outwards for a solution”. This comment shows a basic lack of understanding of the message.
Not to say that I believe anything will come. who is to say really? neither one of us knows better than the other.
I would think that a display of this type (if it did occur) would rather, hold a more general message — not for assistance, but to prove that these things do exsist, so people can stop arguing over it and the media and governments finally wouldn’t be able to try and cover it up. Dr. Professional, you’re right in a way. Most people don’t understand that some Ets are actually from another dimension. I’ve proven (to myself anyway) that other dimensions exist. I’ve met other beings and so on, but they’re all out for the same thing really…exploration.
Christiaan, this is another problem. Most people believe that because aliens are highly intelligent, they can save us from our doom. This isn’t the case. We need to look at them with suspicion because again, like I’ve said before, these could be like the English towards the American Indians or the Spanish towards the Mayans and Aztecs. I don’t believe in this or follow this kind of thing but I am a writer and I know that to report on a story you need all of the facts to be credible and complete in the telling of a story.

I love that people are pondering how they all “percieve” this predicted event. For me it is the realization that this is not really about Aliens, it is about “us” and even the Aliens seem to agree on this.
One morning we head out the door to work, just happen to look up and the sky is filled with a monster ship. What do we think and feel! What do we remember in our minds? Do we see Will Smith in Independence day running for his jet with weapons? Do we go up on the highest building with opened arms to welcome them like a moth to a light bulb? Do we act without knowledge by somehow deciding what we want to believe? Or are we truly opened to watch, record the facts, study the patterns, and then make a logical choice about all this? If contact is our future we will have pletny of time for studying it rationally over time.
Either way, and any choice reaction we find ourselves inside, we will be faced with our deepest fears if this event unfolds as the prediction suggests. Some may use the rule that “Love conquers fear” but it also may conquer mind and logic if it turns out to be a decpetion, like the snake hypnotizing the mouse prior to eating him.
Many people not expecting or prepared for an event will get first hand oppertunity to observe thier “fear” first hand. Fear of death is the strongest and hardest to rise over to gain control of oneself. This is the begining of truly learning a Spiritual path to self empowerment and realizing that Religion has only offered a “plastic model” to the true experience of facing death or the unknown head on.
So for many the appearance of a large ship will simply induce fear and cause them to begin to think more seriously about who we are and why we are the way we are. For others it may totally blind them with “emotion” expecting not to have to develope ourselves, but somehow be handed heaven without actually creating it here ourselves, or having to slowly develope “comprehension” of how to get there on our own.
These Spiritual seeiers seem to be split into two groups. Those stating, the Aliens will come in and give us everything we need, and those who tell us they will not give us anything at all but knowledge that it is possible to get where they are at, if we can only wake up and see a bigger picture as “one mankind.”
This statement hits Religion the hardest, as most all over in that group are waiting for Jesus to come and do the same for us. God will come and transform the earth into a paradise or whatever. There is no effort involved except accepting him into your …and here it is…“Heart!” So being saved is and emotional choice and not a mental one at all.
Left brain / right brain — all to date are unbalanced concepts of our reality. Science would drop the heart and religion would drop the mind for a fairy tale version of our history based on snakes and balls of fire talking to people. Something that totally defies nature and observing nature today [science].
This happening now is about “us” not about them.
Blossom has shown us all on this thread what is inside each one, and each one can look there and see from their own writing what is inside. Would you want “you” for a neighbor? Has anyone investigated how many towns have the name Alabama in the southern hemisphere? That would be Oz, Africa and South America, not the US. Mexico has already had humdreds of UFO flyovers. The Southern Hemisphere is most easy to navigate due to the standing reversed spin of the earth with respect to gravity. From direct experiments we have found Joe Cells to probably work better down under as well.

So where am i headed with this? Well, i was born and raised Catholic, but lost a lot of faith in the people running the Church about twenty years ago, not my faith in God though. Now the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) is a well oiled machine and nothing just goes said without the “Popes” blessing or whoever actually runs the RCC, i’m sure.

But since then, and inbetween, it seems the RCC has been very busy. Maybe I just seem close-minded to someone who’s gullible enough to believe some random person on the net calling herself Blossom Goodchild, who says she talks to a dead Native American and sells a book for $25 claiming she gets messages from aliens calling themselves the Federation of Light.

So i dont have a clue wheather or not this will happen,it sounds like it would be great if it does happen and i think just for the next few days i’ll believe in it,sure it might seem foolish,but i don’t think i have anything to lose if i do,more to gain i think.
And im just wanting to point something out for those skeptical of aliens wanting to visit this great planet.I always hear people say things like ‘why would aliens want to come to this planet blah blah…Well,i think why would’nt they,we have over 6 BILLION humans living on this rock and who knows how many animals,i mean seriously,think about it,with all our neon signs blinking constantly and all the radio and televison and satelite signals bouncing back and forth and whatever else are we not just a massive beacon screaming out into the cosmos, if these other being have technology more advanced than ours, then wouldnt we just be sticking out like a sore thumb.
And also Chris,about what you said about Goodchild selling books,i dont think that should be a discredit to her,it seems that everyone has to make a dollar in this world somehow,she’s just using the new age gifts she’s got. I does’nt seem like anyone stopped paying taxes to the government to continue this war when they didnt find nukes,i think we need to look at who the real con artists are in this world instead of trying to debunk a person who wants nothing but peace and happiness for this planet.

It’s not a matter of discrediting her. No doubt that will come on the 14th. The book simply presents a powerful motive, which sends off alarm signals for those of us thinking about this rationally.
Well, you might be right, but I think we all lose at the end of the day when people are happy to believe in things without good reason. It distracts us all from the things that we do have good reason to believe in, such as the dire need to actually do something about global warming, the U.S.-Israeli/Palestinian conflict which could lead us to WWIII, and the monstrous inequity in the world.
When you believe in things without good reason you put another little nail in the coffin of the Enlightment and push us all a little bit further back into a world run by propagandists and scammers.
heres my issue they say the 14th but in all actuality wouldnt we see the craft entering our atmosphere days in advance? like today i guess by satellite or telescope?

ok we need to start looking outside the box of all we have ever been told and conditioned about Et races. Ultra violet light do you see that , infa red light„ dark matter, microwaves, our senses are restricted to a very very very small portion of the absolution«< whole thing. Condidtion ur mind to the fact there are living entitys who excist in a vibration higher then our own, we simply cant see them nor sense them. our spirits dwell in an area of higher vibration most cant sense them. So no ther could be a lightship size earth floatin on our doorstep we wouldnt see it untill we raise vibration or it lowers its.

I’m getting the same effect with web traffic because someone on here pointed out that my site has a photo of people marking out ‘an alien landing site’, I changed the title to oblige. Well sorry to disappoint but it’s just an experiment that shows how Stonehenge was set out by prehistoric people, but hey — I’m not complaining!
And by the way,i just wanted to know Chris,what odds do you give on this actually happening,in your opinion do you think there might be a small chance,or are you saying that the notion and because of the resource its coming from that its completly proposterous,im trying to figure out where you stand,cause on one hand you say you do believe in other life in the universe,but your also saying that an event like this isnt on the table,do you maybe have just a small belief that it might happen?

Joshua, I never said I “believe” in other life in the Universe. I’m not aware of us having found any yet. I’ll believe it once we see it, so to speak.
I think the odds of Blossom Goodchild being correct are stupendously low and the odds of there being other life in the Universe stupendously high.
On the other hand our type of organisational intelligence — the type needed to learn about intergalactic space travel — may well not be conducive to survival. i.e. life of our type of organisational intelligence may kill itself off before it gets a chance to master intergalactic space travel.
I’m not that interested Goodchild’s claim to be honest. I’m more interested as to why people want to believe her.

You’re right that religious belief distract people from the truth,but i don’t think this is a huge distraction.So to the next point of why is’nt anything being done about global warming,why are we not using clean energy NOW,why is there a war still going on in Israel/Palastine.
Take plastic for example,we all know how harmful this product is,it creates noxious fumes when produced and burned but for some reason we keep on making the stuff,and when i say we i mean them,you know those few old blokes that own the plastic making factor,that continue to use the by-products of ipod cases to make the plastic bags and continue to ship up ton after ton of plastic bag to the supermarkets that they most likely own also,even after years and years of being told there bad for the enviroment,they choke marine life and everything else,they continues to produce this rubbish,when all it takes is for one person to turn of that switch at the factory and STOP making the dam things,its thats simple,just turn of the switch,but for some unknown reason i keep getting pumped witn the information that this plastic poluting this world is somehow my problem.
And what about our good friend Cancer,how much money does it actually take to cure this disease that we have all grown to love so much,1 billion dollars,2 billion dollars,a few trillion,why doesnt someone just write out a blank check,they do it for the banks when there a bit short on cash,why not for the plague of the 21st century.No,of course they dont cause once again this is my problem to solve isnt it,im the one that has to give $10 a week to cancer research and still get heckled by 5 – 6 people a day while i walk through the city,but then after 20 something years of people donating money for cancer research how much do they have,i mean how much money does it seriously take to find the cure to this illness,because in my opinion there isnt one.It’s pretty obvious actually,this world is sick and that directly affects its inhabitants,there is no cure,the problem lies at the source.
I don’t know if im making my point clear,but,there are 7,002,000,000 people in this world and my guess would be that more than 99% of them are pretty decent good hearted folk,there are more good people in this world than bad,its a fact,go travelling and find out for yourself if you dont believe me,you wont be dissapointed,its a great world.

I’ve been researching the google earth phenomenon on youtube for almost 10 hours straight now. I’ve been doing “advanced” searches; “with exact phrase” I type in “google earth” and I “sort results by” — “date added”. [Have also searched “with exact phrase” — “October 14″]. Many of the contributors are New Agers. I CAN’T take it.…some others are confused & wondering what is going on. Apparently, these strange shapes are not just showing up on google earth. Many contributors are regular google earth watchers & have never seen anything like this before. I think before you write anything else, you should take a look. However, I would like to warn you that there is nothing benevolent about this scenario, and I am NOT confirming the messages that were “channeled”. Sure, maybe this will happen on the 14th, but don’t believe a single word of the purpose for their being here! IMPORTANT… See leaked Nasa photos & video on youtube by contributor pr828750 or just search for the video entitled “October 14 2008 leak 11101″. There are submissions by many different people over the past week and a half. Strange hole in Antarctica was noticed by others earlier this year on google earth, plus large areas are being “blocked out” with red x’s. These things HAVE NOT been seen by regular viewers of google earth before this time. Something really is happening, but it isn’t good, trust me!
